Q. Why are design fees necessary for custom projects?
A. As a “turn-key” design/build firm, one of the most valuable services that Innovative
Theatres provides its clients is creative design. Only a few firms have the in-house
capabilities to merge architecture, interiors, lighting, acoustics, audio/video
electronics and automation into one exciting and cohesive design concept.
At Innovative, that is exactly what we do.
In addition, once the project is accepted by you for construction, your
design fees will be deducted from your final project payment.
Q. Will you collaborate with my interior designer?
A. Yes. Although we feel confident that you will enjoy the result of our creative process,
Innovative Theatres is well-suited and experienced in team-working with architects,
designers and contractors, adding technical and design idea support for the best
possible and most pleasing environment.
Q. What is the typical payment schedule?
A. Payments are broken into 4 phases. (1) Retainer, (2) To begin manufacturing, (3) Upon Theater equipment delivery,
(4) Final payment due upon completion. The first payment of our custom theater process is
the design fees to begin the design process. These fees may range from $5,000.00 for
simple designs or design modification up-to $50,000.00 for a ground-up build-out theater room.
For our Classic Editions series, 10% of the total project cost is required to initiate floor
plan drawings and color palette selection. This payment is usually made on the first but sometimes
second visit. The next payment of 30% is paid to begin your theaters manufacturing process.
After the theater is manufactured 50% will be due upon delivery of the theaters elements,
components and furnishings. The remaining 10% balance is due upon project completion
and client instruction.
Q. Will you make it so simple that even I can operate the theater?
A. Upon our first visit, most clients have an armful of remote controls on their coffee
table and very little idea which remote operates which component. In today’s electronic
environment it has become increasingly more difficult for most people to adapt to any
changes made to their presently familiar audio/video system. We understand this.
All projects that Innovative Theatres are engaged in are designed using a “one touch”
automated remote control. This allows full set-up of theater operations by a single
button press and at once eliminating all the individual remote controls.
Q. What are the terms of your service agreement?
A. All audio and video components supplied by Innovative Theatres are warranted for a
period of one year upon your theaters completion including removal, repair and/or
replacement of any failed equipment at no charge. This warranty extends to any customers
who may need additional systems operations instruction. All original equipment manufactures
warranties apply beyond the Innovative warranty and will be serviced by Innovative Theatres
after the one year warranty period concludes at regular labor rates.
Q. Do I pay design fees for the “Classic Edition” series theaters?
A. No. Because the Classic Editions series are pre-designed and scaleable,
the design process has been fully completed.
